Digital Health Intern
Typical Accountabilities:
• Either manages an entire area of Clinical Research in a country or small region, or acts as the senior expert in one or more areas of clinical research
• Develops, or uses expertise to support the development of, strategies and objectives for Clinical Research in area of responsibility, and ensures these are aligned to broader AstraZeneca goals and objectives
• May act as the most senior expert resource in one or more areas of clinical research for own country or region
• Maintains a high degree of understanding and awareness of internal and external developments that could affect the Clinical Research sub-family and the drug development function, and shares this with team members as appropriate
• Builds networks with other teams and oversees the interaction between research and development, marketing and manufacturing teams to ensure the commercial viability and overall success of a product
• Oversees the coordination of different strands of work with the aim of predicting the commercial viability and success of a product throughout the life cycle
• May performance manage a senior management team, setting their goals and objectives, providing appropriate development opportunities and carrying out effective succession planning
• May manage or support complex and cutting edge projects to improve processes within Clinical Research or develop and introduce new technologies and approaches at the national, regional or global level
• Ensures that own work and work of function is compliant with Safety Health and Environment standards and all other relevant internal and external regulation and standards
Typical People Management Responsibility (direct / indirect reports):
• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 10-30
• Grandfather (manager of a manager)

• Own country
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline; Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry; Excellent communication skills; Project management experience; Knowledge of relevant legislation and developments
• Desirable: An advanced degree in a relevant field and/ or professional certification; Expert reputation within the business and industry
Key Relationship to reach solutions:
• Internal (to AZ or team): Members of all functions on project team; Team Leaders and technical experts in other functions
• External (to AZ): External service providers; External science partners; Regulatory bodies
